How Createrun compares.
Most platforms make you choose: build fast, or own what you build. Createrun is built so you don't have to — one governed application model for visual, pro-code, and AI authoring; readable C# source; a customer-controlled operating boundary. Here's the honest head-to-head.
Comparison data based on each vendor's public documentation, reviewed cell by cell against that documentation before publication. We try to be fair — if you spot a misrepresentation, email hello@createrun.com and we'll correct it.

Scope: this table covers the enterprise low-code platforms most often shortlisted alongside Createrun. Other platforms in the category — including Appian — are not assessed here yet; ask us and we will walk through a like-for-like comparison against your criteria.
The comparison that matters now isn't just low-code. AI coding assistants such as Cursor are strong at general code reasoning — the enterprise application system around the code (identity, deterministic processes, signed distribution, install and update lifecycle) is left to you. Hosted AI app builders such as Lovable excel at fast prototypes on their infrastructure; self-hosting and export options are limited. Platform copilots such as Salesforce Agentforce Vibes build within their platform's boundary. Createrun's answer: keep the coding agent — and add the enterprise application system around it. AI proposes. Createrun validates. People approve. The process engine executes.
| What enterprises need | Createrun | AI coding assistants (e.g. Cursor) | AI app builders (e.g. Lovable) | Platform copilots (e.g. Agentforce Vibes) |
|---|
| Build at conversation speed | ✓ The Createrun Agent | ✓ Core strength | ✓ Core strength | ~ Within their platform |
| Deterministic processes — approvals, stages, audit | ✓ Built-in process engine | Not core — no built-in process engine | Not core — approval flows are yours to build | ~ Platform workflow add-ons |
| Code you own, with an exit | ✓ Full source export | ✓ Your repo — runtime is your problem | Partial — hosted; export options are limited | Within the platform boundary |
| Runs on your infrastructure | ✓ On-prem by default | ~ You assemble hosting yourself | Hosted on their infrastructure | Hosted on their infrastructure |

Choose Mendix if...
You're already deeply in their ecosystem; their analyst-driven low-code is well-established for very large enterprise rollouts; their visual modelling has years of polish.
Choose OutSystems if...
You need very high-throughput .NET-native enterprise apps; your team is already trained on their Service Studio; you want their managed cloud rollout governance.
Choose Power Apps if...
You're a Microsoft 365 / Dynamics shop and your apps mostly read/write Dataverse; cloud-only is fine; you want SharePoint / Teams integration baked in.
Choose a hosted AI builder if...
You're prototyping something solo this weekend — a hosted AI app builder will get a demo live faster than any enterprise platform, ours included. A weekend prototype is not the same thing as an application your organization can govern and operate for years — when it needs to become one, that's our lane.
- You need on-prem with regulatory compliance — data-residency regimes such as GDPR and KVKK, or air-gap deployment.
- You want AI that actually builds — the Createrun Agent creates forms, workflows and queries in conversation, behind approval gates, not just code-completion suggestions.
- You want source ownership — visually built or hand-coded, your apps belong to you: exportable, modifiable, yours to keep.
- You want VS / VS Code as your IDE, not someone's proprietary Studio.
- You want a marketplace where every app is signed and verified before it runs.
- You want a published pricing model you can evaluate before the first call.
- You're building under strict data-protection rules and need a vendor who understands data-residency regimes such as GDPR and KVKK by default.
